Start a project
Symfony is the choice for PHP systems that need strict structure and a long life. Our Symfony developers work with its components, Doctrine and API Platform to build applications that large teams can maintain, with clear boundaries, dependency injection and thorough automated tests.
Tell us a little about your requirements and our team will get back to you.
IDOWS Apex is a software engineering company in Lahore, Pakistan that provides Symfony developers on a project, dedicated-developer or dedicated-team basis. They build Symfony applications and API Platform APIs with Doctrine, Messenger and thorough automated tests, and plan upgrades around long-term support releases. Clients interview each developer before they join.
Why hire our Symfony developers

Dependency injection and bundles keep large codebases modular, so teams can work on one area without breaking another.
PHPUnit for units and WebTestCase for HTTP flows, with Behat where behavior needs to be specified in plain language.
Deprecations are cleared on the long-term support release, so the next major upgrade is largely mechanical.
Slack or Teams, Jira, GitHub, standups and code review.
Symfony development services
Business applications structured into bundles with dependency injection.
REST and GraphQL APIs for web and mobile clients.
Entities, relations and reviewed database migrations.
Async messages and event-driven workflows.
Firewalls, authenticators and voters on specific objects.
Server-rendered pages and interactive UI.
Unit, HTTP and behavior tests around critical flows.
Deprecations cleared on LTS, then the next major.
Symfony technology stack
Each project uses only the layers it needs, on the versions it runs today.
Symfony project process
Five stages from the first conversation to the software running in production.

Engagement models
Pick the model that fits how much of the delivery you want to manage.

}There is no single rate for Symfony developers. Cost depends on the seniority you need, the engagement model you choose (adding developers to your team, a dedicated team, or a fixed-price project), how long the engagement runs and the scope of the work. For Symfony work, the biggest drivers are the current major version and deprecation backlog, how complex the Doctrine domain model is, the number of asynchronous workflows and integrations, and whether API Platform or a custom API layer is required. Share your requirements and we will come back with a quote for your situation.
You tell us the technology, seniority, role and team structure you need. We recommend Symfony developer profiles that match those requirements, and you review the profiles and speak with the engineers yourself before anyone joins your team. When you interview, the areas worth testing are service container, autowiring and dependency injection configuration; doctrine entity design, relations, migrations and query performance; messenger transports, retry strategies and failure handling; security firewalls, authenticators and voters; clearing deprecations ahead of a Symfony major-version upgrade; and testing with PHPUnit, WebTestCase and Behat.
It depends on which engineers with the right skills are available when you get in touch, so we do not publish a fixed start date. Availability is part of the conversation when we recommend profiles, and the start date is agreed with you before the engagement begins.
Because you interview the engineers before anyone joins, fit is tested before work starts. If concerns come up once the engagement is running, raise them with us directly. How changes to the team are handled is set out in the terms you agree with us at the start.
A freelancer suits small, well-defined tasks you can manage yourself. A dedicated developer joins your team under your direction. A dedicated team adds several roles around your product, and a project-based team delivers a defined outcome end to end.
They work in your time zone or with a meaningful overlap agreed up front, and inside your own tools and process: Slack or Teams, Jira, GitHub or GitLab, your standups, sprint planning and code review.
Yes. We review the architecture, bundles and test coverage first, then work within your conventions. If the application is on an older major version we can plan the upgrade alongside feature work.
Every schema change goes through a Doctrine migration that is reviewed like code, rather than relying on schema updates generated at deploy time. Large tables get backwards-compatible steps, such as adding a nullable column before backfilling, so deployments do not lock the database.
Yes. Components such as HttpFoundation, Console, EventDispatcher, Validator and Mailer are standalone Composer packages. Laravel and Drupal both build on several of them, and they are a practical way to introduce structure into an older custom PHP application.
The Security component handles authentication through firewalls and authenticators, while voters decide whether a user can act on a specific object. Voters keep permission logic in one testable place instead of scattered checks across controllers and templates.
Yes. Flex installs bundles with recipes that add default configuration, environment variables and directory structure automatically. On older applications not yet using Flex, migrating to it is usually a worthwhile step before a major-version upgrade because it simplifies later bundle changes.
